From the beginning of Shang Dynasty to end Qing development Chinese classical landscape gardens went through five periods: formation period Shang, Zhou, Qin and Han Dynasties, transition Wei, Jin, Southern Northern heyday Tang Dynasty, maturity Song, Yuan, Ming middle Dynasty. Five thousand years glorious culture makes different from Western Islamic gardens. The unique garden system style give rise profound in world history. Based on history gardens, paper focuses historical background Song garden, characteristics typical literati two dynasties, order understand process more deeply. Under condition learning understanding, method concept design are inherited applied modern planning design.
